How to generate a Windows 10 System Information NFO File

Introduction:

It may be required to generate a Windows 10 System Information NFO file for license generation or other troubleshooting.

Applies to:

This document applies to Windows 10 computers.

Procedure:

1. Right click On the Start menu (Windows), click Run.
   
2. In the Run dialog box, enter MSINFO32 and click OK
   
3. The System Information dialog box should appear.
   
4. Click the File menu and click Save
   
5. Click the Downloads folder to save it to the downloads directory on the computer
6. 
7. Enter a name for the file named with the instrument serial number and the words System Information and Click Save.
   
8. Open the Windows Explorer and find the NFO file that was saved.
9. Right click on the NFO file and click Send To and click Compressed (zipped) folder
   
10. Email us the Compressed (zipped) folder file that was generated.
